Fine, fresh copy of this scarce map of the eastern Baltic, northern Poland and Russia, drawn by Gastaldi, a cartographer based in Venice, widely regarded as the greatest cartographer of his day. This version was engraved and published by Paolo Forlani, a leading figure of the Italian school of mapmaking. Forlani's version is better known than the original, as he achieved greater distribution.
