[Jeremiah's Cave, Mount of Olives, Jerusalem].
Jeremiah's Cave is located to the north of the old city's Herod's Gate. According to Jewish tradition the cave was used as prison for prophet Jeremiah, who was imprisoned there by Tzidkiyahu Kind of Judea (Zedekiah). Later, the place was named by Jerusalem Jews as the 'Stoning House' that was mentioned in the Mishnah. The place was later used as part of the Muslim cemetery, with highly ranked individuals buried in the grounds surrounding the cave.
